The Role
Design at Rare Standard is about making brands work across cultures, formats, and teams. You'll touch everything from campaign localization for global brands to digital experiences, motion and brand identity projects. The common thread: every piece of work is grounded in brand systems and operational clarity. You're not designing in a vacuum. You're designing within a system and sometimes you're building the system itself.
Small team, so you'll cover a lot of ground. One week it's adapting a global hero campaign for the Japan market. The next it's building templates that 200 people will use. Then it's a brand identity evolution for a client entering APAC. Range matters here. So does craft. So does caring about the details nobody else will notice.
What You'll Do
Produce high-quality brand design, digital design, and campaign localization across global accounts
Live inside brand systems and contribute to them, keeping consistency without losing creative energy
Adapt global campaigns for local markets. Know what to keep, what to evolve, and what to reimagine.
Create digital experiences, marketing assets and presentation materials grounded in brand strategy
Partner with Brand Strategists, Systems Designers and Client Partners daily
Care about craft at every level, from a keynote slide to a multi-market campaign rollout
What You Bring
A portfolio that shows visual craft across brand, digital and campaign work
Time spent working with or within brand systems and guidelines (not just one-offs)
Comfort with multi-format design: digital, print, presentation, motion basics
Ability to work in both Japanese and English design contexts (typography, layout, cultural sensitivity)
Proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite
An eye that catches what's 2px off, and the conviction that fixing it matters
